On-Bus Stop Announcer

For Scheduled Buses

Our on-bus stop announcer for scheduled bus services removes the stress for operators who need to meet the requirement to provide audio-visual stop information to passengers.

Impending regulations require the majority of buses to be fitted with this type of equipment and many smaller operators have been understandably concerned because traditional systems are costly, complex and require frequent interaction.

We knew there had to be a better alternative so we developed an intelligent stop announcer.

It a lot cheaper than existing systems, Installation is easy (it can be wall or post mounted) and it needs minimal attention. Once it knows what bus it is on and it retrieves the timetables and works out what trips it’s on. No driver interaction is required - it just looks after itself.

Someone described its operation as frictionless and that captures it well.

The stop announcer is available with a few different screen sizes, but we’re initially focusing on the 13.5" size. This seems to hit a sweet spot - it is large enough to be read from the back of the bus while being compact enough for easy installation. And the price is good as with larger screen sizes the price increase sharply. Smaller versions are available too if you are very tight on space.

The device supports remote LED matrix displays which display the stop information to parts of the vehicle where the main panel is not visible, such as upstairs on a double decker and at the rear of a bus in the case of rear facing seats. A double decker with rear facing seats may need stop announcer with 2 LED matrixes - it can be done.
